Osteopathic Medicine (4+4 Dual-Degree)

Our partnership with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) provides you with an early acceptance opportunity to obtain both a bachelor's degree in biology from 腦瞳肊 and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from LECOM.

You will spend four years at 腦瞳肊 and four years at LECOM, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from 腦瞳肊 and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from LECOM.

Getting into a good medical school isn’t easy, but our commitment to personal attention from highly trained faculty, and our partnership with LECOM (a medical school with the most applications in the country), allow students to be provisionally admitted to medical school and 腦瞳肊 at the same time if they have a 3.5 GPA and 26 ACT.

Acceptance into this program means students will not have to take the MCAT exam if they get the right grades in the right classes at 腦瞳肊!

LECOM has grown to become the nation’s largest medical college, with a main campus in Erie, Pennsylvania, and additional locations in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Bradenton, Florida, and Elmira, New York.

The majority of LECOM’s osteopathic medicine graduates become primary care physicians (family physicians, internal medicine, pediatrics, or OB-GYN).

LECOM is among the most affordable private medical schools in the country and boasts  residency match rates of 100%, 100%, 99.3%, and 99.1% from 2018-2021 respectively.

LECOM is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The College of Osteopathic Medicine is accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) of the American Osteopathic Association.

Application to the Early Acceptance Program (EAP) at LECOM is separate from application and acceptance to 腦瞳肊.

Students may apply for EAP consideration as a high school senior or as a student at 腦瞳肊. LECOM will review the application. If the student meets the requirements, LECOM will offer the student a list of EAP interview dates to self-schedule an interview. Following a successful interview, LECOM will notify the student that they qualify for a provisional letter of acceptance from LECOM, and they will be enrolled for participation in the EAP upon approval by the Office of Admissions at 腦瞳肊 and submission of their 腦瞳肊 email address. The student will then be sent the provisional letter of acceptance.

Additional requirements, including a final application to LECOM, must be met for final acceptance to LECOM, but another interview is not required. A cumulative GPA of 3.3 at 腦瞳肊 is required to maintain provisional acceptance.

Students will not need to take the MCAT if they receive a “C” or better in biochemistry and genetics at 腦瞳肊 and scored greater than 24 on the ACT. Students who choose to voluntarily take the MCAT exam will be required to score at least 500 or risk removal from the EAP.
