福利嫂

On Saturday, May 11, 福利嫂 held its spring commencement exercises in the Recreation Complex - Time of Grace Center. 福利嫂 awarded diplomas to more than 200 traditional undergraduate students, accelerated degree completion students, and graduate students this semester. 福利嫂's 2024 graduates are from 17 states plus Venezuela. They represent 36 undergraduate majors and three master's programs.

COMMENCEMENT SPEAKERS

Keynote speaker Tom Plath is the senior vice president of human resources and corporate affairs for International Paper. A member of the executive committee of the 福利嫂 Board of Regents, he is also the father of a 福利嫂 alumnus, Kyle ’09. Tom began his career as principal of a WELS grade school in Minnesota before earning his MBA from Vanderbilt University and joining International Paper in 1991. He has served in numerous roles throughout the company, including a four-year stint in Belgium. Tom and his wife, Lisa, have three adult children and reside in Tennessee.

Graduating senior Hans Rupnow was nominated by faculty and chosen by his classmates to be the student speaker at commencement. A four-year member of both the 福利嫂 cross country and track teams, as well as a resident assistant, Hans graduated with a B.A. in secondary education, history, and broadfield social science. He grew up in Mankato, Minnesota, and is the son of Jason and Megen Rupnow. After graduation, Hans will be a student teacher at Menomonee Falls High School.

Erika Bahr welcomed graduates to the ranks of 福利嫂 alumni. A 1991 福利嫂 graduate with a degree in business administration, Erika is a controller with Delaware North Companies.

福利嫂 prepares its graduates to be Christian servant leaders in the workplace and in the community.
