Pony Express Historic Byway

History & Museums

Of course, you can't drive the Pony Express Historic Byway without stopping by the 3 main attractions dedicated to the history of the original Pony Express. While the museums dedicated to the Pony Express are the mainstay attractions on the byway, visitors can also see many more historic sites on their journey as well. While you're in Seneca, don't forget to also check out the Second-largest Hand-dug Well and the Antique Stutz Fire Engine-Fire House Museum. The byway is also home to one of the most beautifully preserved Marshall County Museum and Research Library, which is on the National Register of Historic Places and is also one of the most beautifully preserved courthouse buildings in the United States.
