Minor League Teams in Kansas

Baseball

Kansas City Monarchs 

The Kansas City Monarchs play in the American Association of Professional Baseball. Formerly known as the Kansas City T-Bones, the team rebranded in 2021 in honor of the longest-running Negro League franchise in history. The team plays at Field of Legends in Wyandotte County, Kansas. 

Wichita Wind Surge 

The Wind Surge is a Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. Formerly known as the Wichita Wingnuts, the team rebranded in 2021 and now plays home games at the new and beautiful Riverfront Stadium in downtown Wichita. 

Hockey

Topeka Scarecrows

The Topeka Scarecrows are an ice hockey team founded in 2025 and play in the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL). Their home games are played at Stormont Vail Arena in central Topeka. 

Wichita Thunder

The Wichita Thunder ice hockey team has been playing home games in Wichita since 1992. They currently play in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), and you can watch their home games at INTRUST Bank Arena in downtown Wichita.
